Raw Recovery & Wellness LLC ("RAW," "we," "us," or "our") is a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of California, with its principal place of business at 2260 Park Avenue, Laguna Beach, CA 92615.

We operate the website at www.rawrecoveryandwellness.com and provide coaching, wellness education, and personal development programs — including the Men of Fortitude™ program.

Information We Collect

2.1  Information You Provide Directly

  • Account registration — name, email address, phone number, billing address, and payment information;
  • Intake forms and program assessments — which may include sensitive personal information such as health history, mental health history, substance use history, and personal disclosures;
  • Communications via email, Slack, or other channels — including messages to coaches and other participants;
  • Live session participation via Zoom — including audio, video, and text chat contributions;
  • Written reflections, daily check-in logs, and other program materials;
  • Newsletter or mailing list sign-ups;
  • Customer support requests.

2.2  Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address and approximate geographic location;
  • Browser type and version, operating system, and device type;
  • Pages visited, time on pages, and referring URLs;
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5);
  • Clickstream and interaction data.

2.3  Information from Third-Party Platforms

  • Zoom — session participation data, recording metadata, and technical connection information;
  • Slack — message content and participation data within RAW-managed workspaces;
  • Stripe — payment transaction records and subscription status. RAW does not receive or store your full credit card number. Stripe handles all payment card data under PCI-DSS standards.

2.4  Sensitive Personal Information

Given the nature of our programs, you may choose to share sensitive personal information — including information relating to your physical or mental health, history of substance use, family history, and personal relationships. We do not require sensitive disclosures to use our Services. Any sensitive information you share is used solely to facilitate your participation in RAW programs and is not used for advertising or profiling.

California residents: Sensitive Personal Information as defined under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) is subject to additional protections. See Section 7 for your rights.

How We Use Your Information

3.1  To Provide and Deliver Our Services

  • Process enrollment, account registration, and program access;
  • Facilitate and deliver coaching sessions, group programs, and curriculum;
  • Enable communication between you, your coach, and your Fortitude Circle;
  • Process payments and manage your subscription;
  • Send program materials, assignments, session reminders, and administrative notices.

3.2  To Improve Our Services

  • Analyze aggregate, de-identified data to improve curriculum and delivery;
  • Conduct internal research and quality assurance;
  • Train and supervise independent contractor coaches using de-identified or appropriately consented information only.

3.3  To Communicate With You

  • Respond to inquiries, support requests, and feedback;
  • Send newsletters and promotional communications to opted-in users;
  • Send legally required notices, including automatic renewal notifications under California law.

3.4  Legal and Safety Purposes

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes;
  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions;
  • Protect the rights, safety, or property of RAW, coaches, participants, or the public.

How We Share Your Information

RAW does not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

All service providers are contractually required to use your information only as directed by RAW and consistent with this Privacy Policy. Our independent contractor coaches have access to personal information you share during sessions solely for the purpose of facilitating your program participation and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

4.2  Legal Disclosures

We may disclose your information when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect any person from imminent harm, to protect the rights or property of RAW, or to detect and prevent fraud.

4.3  Business Transfers

If RAW is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.4  With Your Consent

We will not use your name, likeness, testimonial, or personal disclosures in any marketing materials without your express written consent.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

5.1  Types of Cookies We Use

  • Strictly Necessary — Required for the Site to function. Cannot be disabled and do not require consent.
  • Functional — Remember your preferences and settings (e.g., staying logged in).
  • Analytics (Google Analytics) — Help us understand how visitors interact with our Site. Google Analytics may collect your IP address, browser information, pages visited, and time on site, and may associate this data with other information Google holds about you.
  • Marketing / Retargeting — Used to deliver advertisements relevant to your interests on other websites and platforms, placed by our advertising partners subject to their own privacy policies.

5.2  Your Cookie Choices

5.3  Do Not Track

Our Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals as there is no universally accepted standard for doing so. We will continue to monitor developments in this area.

Data Retention

  • Account and enrollment information — retained for the duration of your active relationship with RAW and for seven (7) years thereafter for legal and tax compliance;
  • Program participation records (assignments, check-ins, session notes) — retained for three (3) years following program completion;
  • Session recordings — retained for twelve (12) months following the session date, then permanently deleted unless retention is required for a legal or compliance matter;
  • Payment and billing records — retained for seven (7) years as required for tax and financial compliance;
  • Marketing opt-in/opt-out records — retained indefinitely to honor your preferences.

Your Rights — California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grants you specific rights with respect to your personal information.

Right to Know

Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our purposes, and third parties with whom we share it.

Right to Delete

Request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.

Right to Correct

Request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

Right to Opt Out

RAW does not sell your data. Our use of Google Analytics may constitute "sharing" for behavioral advertising under CPRA. You may opt out via cookie controls in Section 5 or by emailing us.

Limit Sensitive Information

Direct us to limit use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to perform the Services you requested. We do not use sensitive information beyond service delivery.

Non-Discrimination

We will not deny Services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

7.1  How to Submit a Request

To exercise any of the rights above, submit a verifiable consumer request by emailing melissa@emotionalfortitude.com or rawrecoveryllc@gmail.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request", including your full name, account email, and a description of the right you wish to exercise.

We will respond within 45 calendar days as required by California law, and may extend by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. You may designate an authorized agent with written proof of authorization.

7.2  Shine the Light (California Civil Code §1798.83)

RAW does not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. If you would like written confirmation of this, please contact us at melissa@emotionalfortitude.com.

Marketing Communications

We send marketing and promotional communications only to users who have expressly opted in. You may opt out at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by emailing melissa@emotionalfortitude.com. Please allow up to ten (10) business days for opt-out requests to be processed.

Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we will continue to send transactional messages related to your account, program participation, and subscription, as these are necessary for the delivery of our Services.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission via SSL/TLS;
  • Access controls limiting personal information to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis;
  • Use of reputable, security-compliant third-party platforms (Stripe, Zoom, Slack);
  • Prompt review and response protocols for suspected data breaches.

No method of data transmission or storage is completely secure. In the event of a breach likely to result in risk to your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law. Please notify us immediately at melissa@emotionalfortitude.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under eighteen (18) years of age. If we learn we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, we will take prompt steps to delete it.
