A 12-Week Men's Program
Build the capacity to feel more, hold more, harness more
and respond rather than react.
This is not about becoming tougher. It's about building the nervous system, the emotional range, and the relational skill to be fully present in your own life — without shutting down, numbing out, or exploding. That way you can experience and express your full potential & power.
Scroll DownFortitude is not just toughness.
It is capacity.
Most men have been trained — by culture, by family, by survival — to manage their nervous systems rather than develop them. Substances, overwork, emotional withdrawal, hyper-rationality: brilliant regulation strategies, at some point. This program asks a different question: what becomes possible when you build the actual capacity instead?
The Three Movements
From Understanding to Embodiment
Weeks 1 – 4
Know Your Hardware
Understand your nervous system. Map your capacity level & patterns. Learn to harness your full intelligence & the signals your body's been sending — those strategies made sense back then, not now though.
Weeks 5 – 8
Re-calibrate
See how your relational patterns, feeling strategies, and attachment history were forged. What they've cost you — and what a new, coherent narrative makes possible.
Weeks 9 – 12
Feel Your Agency
Build the practices, feelings literacy, boundaries, communication skills, and support structures for a fundamentally different way of moving through the world.
Clarity
What This Program Is — And Isn't
What It Is
A Relational Container
8–10 men in a facilitated circle, building real capacity together through practice, not theory. Led by our Head Coach, Dave Alexander, and Assistant Coach, Thomas Orradre.
Nervous System Development
Learning to expand your window of tolerance so you can hold more intensity without shutting down or exploding.
Skill-Building
Self-connection, emotions vs. feelings, needs-based communication, boundary-setting, and a far better ability to be witnessed without performing.
Embodied Work
This lives in the body, not just the mind. Somatic practices, state awareness, slow is fast, and attunement experience are the way we're going to get there..
Signal Over Noise
We understand and work with the autonomic nervous system, somatic work, NVC, NARM, and attachment science — distilled, sequenced, and made coherent & relevant. You get what actually moves the needle, not a 400-book reading list.
Designed for Integration
Each week's async lessons feed into live circle, your private Circle Slack channel, and coach conversations. Information sharing in real time as you embody these practices.
What It Isn't
Not Therapy
Though therapeutic principles inform our flow, this is distinctly a coaching program. Most men participating appreciated the work they did (do) in therapy. This builds the capacity to do what we do. Onward and upward.
Not Passive Learning
You won't sit and absorb. You will practice, feel, be witnessed, and witness others. Even when it's uncomfortable.
Not About Achieving Calm
Calm is one state. The goal is range — the ability to move through the full spectrum of human intensity with awareness and repair and return to a good baseline.
Not Advice-Giving
The circle doesn't fix. It reflects, attunes, and holds space for each man's own process.
Not an Information Dump
You won't drown in content to feel like you got value. Every framework earns its place; every concept connects to something you'll actually do.
Not Theory Alone
Intellectual understanding doesn't change a nervous system. The process we're going to take will become a part of your way of being. The men you'll move through this with will inspire and challenge you in ways you'll realize were necessary for your next level. Let's go.
How It Works
The Structure That Holds the Work
Weekly Live Circle
90 minutes on Zoom with Coach Dave Alexnader & your Fortitude Circle of 8–10 exceptional men. Somatic opening, state check-in, coaching for deep work in the "seat," group resonance, and regulation close.
Asynchronous Curriculum
One core teaching video (15-30 min), a somatic guide with exercises, weekly written assignment, and curated readings. Move at your pace so live sessions stay training & practice-focused.
30 min Daily Training
Three nervous system state check-ins per day — morning, midday, evening — plus a week-specific practice. More results will come with more effort applied here.
Coaching & Community
Direct Slack access to your coaches within agreed response framework. A private circle channel for progress, check-ins, wins, and questions/needs. And humor and fun in the midst of hard training.
Week By Week
The Twelve Weeks
The Hardware — Your Nervous System
You have a nervous system shaped by everything that ever happened to you. It is not a character flaw.
Introduction to the autonomic nervous system, polyvagal theory's three states, and Dan Siegel's self-observation tools. You'll learn the Window of Tolerance. The goal isn't calm. The goal is full range.
Calibration — Your Resources
Before we train the system to hold more, we ensure it has enough fuel.
Lisa Feldman Barrett's Body Budget concept. You'll build a personal Resourcing Menu of up-regulation and down-regulation practices, and begin the Body Budget Audit.
Mapping the Edges
The window's edges are where the growth is.
Deep dive into hyper-arousal and hypo-arousal. Introduction to titration, orienting, and pendulation practices for your soma.
Regulation Patterns
Everyone regulates. The question is whether your strategies are working with you or slowly costing you, and those around you.
Shadow regulation using things you didn't realize you were using. Threshold monitoring — the pause between trigger and response is the training ground for conscious action.
"From The Inside Out" — Intensive
A 2-3 hour bonus workshop to take our neuro-maps, our attuned understanding and somatic connection and level up to phase 2. This intensive will be a dedicated integration of the work thus far, and will set the foundation for phase two of this adventure.
Extended somatic work, live "fitness tests," ancestral field exercises with group witnessing, and shadow regulation mapping.
Relating Patterns
How you learned to be safe with others is the operating system beneath every relationship.
Attachment theory as learned strategy. Power-over vs. power-with dynamics. NARM and family of origin as nervous system school.
Universal Human Needs
Underneath every behavior you've criticized yourself for is a legitimate need.
NVC's Needs layer. The full Human Needs Map. Neurotype-specific needs recognized as precision, not pathology.
Feeling Things
Emotions are not obstacles. They are data. From there we can discern feelings, which we can use intelligently.
The six layers: affect, sensations, perception, emotions, feelings, consciousness. Emotional fortitude as a neurological & relational advantage.
Your Fortitude Story
This isn't your typical sobriety story, it's got a specific & intentional twist.
The Fortitude Story is a coherence narrative that actually helps you "decommision those old neural grooves". Jazz as metaphor. Midpoint assessment revisits all baselines so you can see (as well as feel) your progress.
Communication
Knowing what you feel and need is useless if you can't communicate it.
NVC in full practice: Observation → Feeling → Need → Request. Boundaries as natural expressions of values.
"rupture & repair cycle" — misattunement
High-intensity, high-support practice of everything you've built for when friction is needed, or stress is a reality.
Fortitude Story sharing, nonverbal attunement, needs-based role plays, grief work, and building your support map.
Aliveness and Agency
This work isn't just about reducing suffering. It's about recovering the full spectrum.
Aliveness as a metric. Good intensity vs. harmful intensity. A pleasure audit across all domains of life.
Goals, Outcomes, Values Orienting
With new eyes, new capacity, and clearer values — what do you actually want?
Goals vs. outcomes. Obstacles mapping — internal and external. Well-formed outcomes integrated with values and needs.
Integration & future proofing
The growth that happened here can either integrate into daily life, even develop further, or it can fade when the container is removed.
Coping ahead. Support vs. brace. Grief and forward motion. Each man will be creating an action plan to cope ahead for how things could go wrong.

What Holds the Circle
01
No Advice
Full stop. You are not here to fix each other.
02
Feelings Over Stories
"What did you feel?" replaces "What happened?"
03
Present Tense
"As I'm telling this, I notice…" rather than "Back then I felt…"
04
Reflect, Don't Project
"I felt tightness in my chest" — not "You seem angry."
05
State Before Content
Before speaking, name your current nervous system state.
06
What Lands in Your Body?
The standard question when you're unsure what to say.
07
Absolute Confidentiality
What's said in the circle stays in the circle.
08
Regulation Is Welcome
If you need to pause, breathe, step out — that's the work, not a disruption.
The cracks are where
the gold goes.
Twelve weeks. MEN OF FORTITUDE. The capacity to hold everything you've been carrying — and everything you've been missing without numbing, chronic supression, overwhelm and other crummy stuff.
